Privacy

The short version: documents on your Mac stay on your Mac. We only store what you choose to share, and what we need to run your account.

Your account

Quillpage needs a free account. We store your name, email address and password (only as a salted, one-way hash, never the password itself), and a record of where you’re signed in (for example “MacBook Air” or “Web browser”) so you can stay signed in. Sign-in tokens are stored encrypted on your Mac.

Your licence and free trial

When Quillpage activates on a Mac it sends your purchase code or trial status, the Mac’s name and an anonymous identifier for the Mac (a one-way hash, not a serial number). This lets your licence work on up to 3 Macs and gives each Mac one free trial. The app re-checks the licence from time to time when it’s online.

Documents on your Mac

Documents you open and save on your Mac are never uploaded. Quillpage only uses the internet for them if a document links to pictures on a website, which are downloaded so they can be embedded when you save.

Shared documents, chat and version history

When you share a document, its content, comments, chat messages and version history are stored with our hosting provider, Cloudflare, encrypted in transit and at rest. Only the people you share it with (and anyone with the link, if you turn link sharing on) can open it. A copy is kept on each computer that opens it so it works offline. When the owner deletes a shared document, or deletes their account, it is permanently deleted from our servers.

Calls

Voice and video calls go directly between the people in the call and are encrypted end to end. When a direct connection isn’t possible, the encrypted call is relayed through Cloudflare, which can’t read it. Our server only helps the computers find each other. Calls are never recorded.

Payments

Payments are handled by Stripe. When you start a trial, buy, or subscribe to Quillpage Cloud, Stripe processes your name, email address, billing details and card under its own privacy policy. We never see your full card number; we keep Stripe’s reference to your saved card so the trial can be charged when it ends, and a record of your purchase for support, refunds, tax and accounting.

Emails

We send emails you need: password reset codes, invitations when someone shares a document with you, a reminder before your trial is charged, and receipts. We use Resend to deliver them. We don’t send marketing emails without asking.

This website

The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes standard request information (such as IP addresses) to deliver and protect it. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies. The website remembers your light or dark choice in your browser only.

Your rights

You can see and change your details in Quillpage ▸ Account, and delete your account there at any time, which deletes your cloud documents too. You can also ask us to see, correct or delete your data by emailing support@quillpage.app. We keep purchase records as long as the law requires for tax and accounting.

Who we are

Quillpage is made by Bazeflix ltd, a company registered in the United Kingdom, which is the controller of your personal data.
